La Romana is a quiet village in the interior of Alicante province, in the Vinalopó Medio district, at the foot of the Serra del Reclot. The village has around 2,700 residents and is surrounded by countryside with vineyards, almond trees and olive groves. Marble quarrying and processing have long been important here, as in the neighbouring towns of Novelda, Algueña and Pinoso. The village provides everyday amenities, and nearby Novelda offers a wider choice of shops and services. Alicante city lies around 40 km away and Alicante airport some 38 km.
